PayPerPost

PayPerPost is a paid to blog service run by IZEA.  IZEA used to be called PayPerPost but recently changed their name due to their new mission.  They are a company with many services to help bloggers and others get into the blogosphere.  The older paid blogging site, PayPerPost is currently very dormant and without page rank it is very hard to get any good jobs there.  PayPerPost in a way was a great way for me to make some money last year.  I made over $3,000 but I also experienced some problems with PayPerPost.  Google found out that I was blogging for PayPerPost and killed the page rank on the one blog I was using for PayPerPost.  This left me down and out of making money because as I said before PayPerPost really requires that you need a blog with some page rank to make any good money.  Some bloggers have commented on how they can get page rank back with resubmitting to Google but that takes a lot of time and hassle for you to do.  PayPerPost is great for bloggers who have a blog that is older than ninty days, have a English based blog and do not mind their page rank being taken away from them.  If you are looking for somewhere were you page rank does not get taken away from you, PayPerPost is not the place.  In fact, paid blogging in general is a risky business with SEO because most paid blogs end up losing their page rank.  However, PayPerPost does have its upsides and I encourage you to check it out if you are interested in it.

Payperpost was good for what it was last year, a good place to make money. I actually liked them then. But when the page rank thing came up, I was expecting PPP to do what they said they would but that didn’t really happen then. I got disenchanted with them when things simply didnt go the way they said they would. And I came to realize that they were liars, that they were only in it for themselves no matter what they said it was about. And I came to the point of not being able to stand Ted Murphy after that.

Google got into vendetta mode against PPP and has not come out. My page rank went to zero and I freaked. But when it dawned on me that the place I work does not care about page rank and the ones that do are not worth working for, I had it made. Google can keep their page rank. I could care less. They are burning their bridges in many cases. Some day, that page rank won’t mean diddly to anyone. The blogs I had signed up with PPP (and still are because they never drop a blog. That way they can count that blog too in their vast numbers of bloggers working for them. I do not for a second believe the numbers they put out) are still being treated like I work for them. Google will not let go of that. So what. I cannot afford to care. Google is reaping what it sows. PPP is also reaping what it sows. Both are headed for their own destruction.

As for resubmitting a blog to google, I wouldn’t go to them about anything. I did not ask for their page rank nor did I join them in any way until well after all that happened. I only joined so I could write comments on those blogs. Didnt work anyway.

Going to Google with hat in hand is like begging and admitting Im wrong. I have no intention of admitting to doing anything wrong. That blog is MINE and it’s mine to do with as I wish. Google is NOT going to tell me what I can and cannot have on it. They do not deserve that much power over me. They said we violated their TOS. Big deal. I didnt ask for them in my life or on my blogs anyway. I cannot violate what I did not join to begin with.

On the other hand, I do believe that paid blogging is just fine, not dangerous. While I am not making a mint, I am making money with it. And it is a much needed paycheck. I happen to like paid blogging and have no intention of giving that up, Google or no google. I have zero respect for google anyway. My page rank says what I feel.

That’s interesting actually, didn’t Michael Arrington say he predicted PPP would be dead by December of 08′….going that way FAST!!! I haven’t resubmitted my blog that I did paid posting with, its with payu2blog, the company I believe you are referring to. ;) I guess we will just have to wait and see really…

I have no idea about Michael Arrington. I didn’t hear that. You wouldn’t have to resubmit your blog to PPP since they never drop one anyway. I have not worked for them in months. But that doesn’t matter. They still keep the blog listed. That’s how they get that huge number that work for them. Yeah right.

Yes, I was refering to PayU2Blog, as a matter of fact. Those are good people who care about what they have out there. They do what they say, they don’t have enormous TOS rules, just simple things that anyone can follow. The rules they have don’t change dramatically. And they pay when they say they will. No fighting to get the opp, no worry if the post will pass inspection after a month. It’s approved as soon as it’s submitted. If something is wrong, you know it right now. No waiting and waiting.

One of the things I hated the most about PPP was the fact that they waited almost a month and then told you something was wrong with the post. Since they weren’t about to pay you when it’s that way, they get away with having had advertising for a month for free. Pretty nice for them. They don’t have to pay the blogger. More money for ME, so says PPP head man, Ted Murphy. I do not for one moment think that he is friendly to the blogger. He is all about money. Nothing else.

I remember when Google was ripping us all at the beginning, several of the people had submitted a post to PPP, then their page rank dropped. When the post was rejected, they tried to resubmit the post when they fixed it but found that since the PR was different, they were no longer eligible for that opp. What a crock. Free advertising. And as of the time I decided not to work for them, they had not fixed that little gem of a problem. I am surprised they still have people working for them at all. Why would anyone want to put themselves through all that? I don’t get it.

I don’t get it either. Ted Murphy isn’t doing much on fixing the problems there thats for sure!

PPP is great when you take it for what it is and realize the risks you are taking with your blogs. PPP has helped me out quite a bit financially so I’m not complaining. And yes, I lost PR on my blogs too, but I’m still here. PR is only as important as you make it. ;)

I like payu2blog better, they do not require any PR. How much are you making without PR, thats all that PR is important for PayPerPost!
